The SMASH_UK organisation works for equality, diversity and inclusion in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics/Medicine (STEM) and Arts education and careers. We design, develop and deliver engaging, immersive Arts-driven STEM (STEAM) events, programmes and activities with the specific outcome of engaging groups and communities underserved by, and underrepresented in, informal and formal education and careers.

We work in three main strands:

SMASHfestUK – our live events ‘front-end’. Producing compelling, groundbreaking STEAM experiences, activities, interactives, shows and events with communities, in communities.

SMASHResearch – developing new methods and approaches to co-design and public engagement with research within complex interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral partnerships. Applying and testing these methods in community co-design programmes and with partner groups.

SMASHConsult – consulting with, and training, organisations seeking to develop and enhance their public engagement, outreach and community policy and programmes through storytelling, co-design, co-production and Equality Diversity and Inclusion focus.

Our most recent EVENT was ‘Space Plague’ in Deptford from 17th to 21st of February 2020, at the Deptford Lounge.
