warning: extremely lifelike simulation of trauma surgery – not for the squeamish
Join Professor Kneebone and his team from Imperial College on a patient’s journey from the scene of injury from flying space debris to the operating theatre live on stage. |
An asteroid has hit London and now the NHS needs to deal with the immediate impact! Falling and flying debris have caused many injuries; some minor, some severe. How do you decide which is which? Who needs an operation? What happens when that patient gets to hospital and what happens during their operation?
Come and join Professor Kneebone and his team from Imperial College as we follow the patient’s journey from the scene of the injury to the operating theatre. See the ambulance crew treating the patient at the roadside and the surgical team fighting to save their life – perhaps even have a go yourself as one of the team.
This is a simulation which is designed to appear very realistic, although no actual surgery or blood is shown. It is not intended to shock although it is not for the faint-hearted! However, should you start to feel unwell during this performance, please alert a member of staff.
